Weekend Wrap Up: Beavers Edition

It's that time of the year again...
and boy does it feel good!!

I got to spend the weekend down in OR with some of my favorite people. We took Friday off to drive down (since traffic is always horrible on Fridays) and we ran some errands once we got there. Then we met up with Julianne and Kyle and went to my favorite restaurant for dinner. I definitely miss that place. YUM!

We were up bright and early on Saturday morning for GAME DAY!
As usual, we had a fun bus ride down to Corvallis. It was great to catch up with everyone. Do you think we were excited?
 These guys are so fun!
We walked over to the bookstore to check out the new gear and look who we ran into. I was like a little kid asking if we could get a pic :)
Ladies pic :) these are the people who make this tailgate as awesome as possible!
My favorite beaver fan :) I miss not living near this girl :(
Our Cabo buddies! Loved getting to hang out with them too.
Charlotte was there too and we played with her for a long time. She is so freaking cute. Had so much fun with these guys :) We definitely needed this to make it feel like football season again.

And the best part of all...A BEAVER WIN! It was a great day in Corvallis. It was also a tiring day. I went to bed at 10pm and was passed out by 10:01pm.

I hope you all had a great weekend as well!

Book Worm Wednesday - July 2016 Reads

I'm on my own this month with Book Worm Wednesday as my girl Molly takes some time off from blogging. I only got through one book last month with all of the moving activities going on. We had so much exciting stuff to do! Hopefully there will be more next month!

#12 Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
Do you guys know about the shadowhunter world?? I'm obsessed. I have loved these books for years and am never disappointed by the next ones that come out. Yeah, I'm definitely super nerdy for liking them. And yeah, a lot of my friends say they are too far out there. But I think they are awesome. I love that this series takes characters from the previous ones and builds on their stories. I also love that all of the books and each different series will tie in some of the same characters as well. This author is always surprising me with the tricks up her sleeve. I love all of these characters and the little world that the author creates :)

Friday Favorites #32

We are finally getting settled in our new home and I FINALLY have time to blog a little! I thought I would take part in Friday Favorites today with Andrea over at Momfessionals
Neko Atsume
Please tell me you are playing this game?! It is definitely the cutest game I have ever played. You basically put out toys and food to get cats to come into your yard. Justin thinks it is so nerdy, but I love it. #nerd. The cats give you cat money so you can buy them more toys and you have to try and see all of the cats and take their pictures for your cat book. Way better than Pokemon.

Family
How cute are these babies? I love them. We got together this weekend because Brenda was in town to visit. I love having a house to be able to host dinners at :) Easy for me since J does all of the cooking. We have had family over for dinner the past 2 weekends and it has been so much fun.

My mom found this adorable little yellow table for my living room this week. Justin and I really love it :) it is perfect for this room. We have yellow pillows on the couches in our living room so this just pulls out the yellow even more. Hopefully I can post some photos of the house sometime in the next week or so. No promises :P

Working Out Again
I have been working out with my coworkers twice a week after work. It has been so much fun. We have been putting together hard circuit workouts that kick all of our butts, except Julie. She is seriously so strong. It is nuts! This is just one of our many workouts, but it almost killed me earlier this week.

This little guy has not been doing well since we moved :( he has had some urinary tract issues and it has not been fun. I think we have been to the vet about 4 times in the past few weeks. But, I'm hoping that we finally have it under control because this guy is really my favorite! In case you didn't know that already from every other post on my blog. He looks happy, right?

Happy Weekend!!

Book Worm Wednesday - June 2016 Reads

I've gone missing from the blog world again! Sorry, I really am the worst. Blogging is hard! Also, we close on our new house this week. AND WE MOVE IN NEXT WEEKEND. That is just a slight glimpse into our crazy life. I have still been reading every night, but not as much as usual since I pretty much pass out the second I hit my pillow. I did get through 2 books in June:

#10 It's Not Okay by Andi Dorfman
You probably already know that I'm a huge sucker for Bachelor/Bachelorette books. I always want to know all of the behind the scenes information. I usually can't stop reading these books once I start them because I just have to know what really happened. I loved Andi's book because she is so real in it. I mean, I guess that is kind of the point of writing a book. But I don't feel like all of them are this real. She really lays it all out there for the readers. I also feel like I connect with her because she seems so normal. The things she talks about with her friends just seem like such normal life things. I actually never finished Andi's season. That is the first season in a long time that I didn't finish. I think I was just really busy during the time it was on and never caught up. So a lot of this info was new to me. I really liked this book and loved how positive she was throughout it!

#11 Then Came You by Jennifer Weiner
I'm on a Jennifer Weiner kick lately. Even though her books are so hard to get from the library because everyone else wants to read them too! I loved all of the characters in this book and how they all ended up colliding. I really enjoy reading books where a bunch of different stories ending up coming together to create on big story. I think that is my favorite kind of book. There has to be a name for that. Anyway, this was one of those books and the storyline did not disappoint. I'm also a sucker for happily ever after books, so this one was right up my alley for that reason as well. It is a quick and light summer read. I would definitely recommend it!

Book Worm Wednesday - May 2016 Reads

Hi friends. Thanks for dropping by the link up today. I hope you are able to link up with us. If not today, then mark your calendars for Wednesday July 6th!! Don't forget to check out my cohost, Molly's, May reads too!

Last month I decided to try and get ready for summer with some summertime reads. Elin Hilderbrand is just amazing. End of story. I'm so glad that she has so many more books for me to read.

#8 The Rumor by Elin Hilderbrand
(here)
Oh my gosh I loved this book. Elin Hilderbrand has not disappointed me yet. This book is about so many different things, it really has it all. The setting and the characters immediately drew me in and me wish I was on some island for the summer. I think a trip to Nantucket is in my future :) What I don't get is how each of Elin's stories take place in the same place, but they are ALL so different. It blows me away. This book talked about so many different stories and issues within two families and ultimately how it all comes crashing down because of a bunch of rumors. I loved it!

#9 The Beach Club by Elin Hilderbrand
(here)
Again, Elin Hilderbrand for the win. Is it summer yet? I feel like it is when I'm reading these books. There are so many different stories going on within this book. Somehow, they are all easy to follow along with. I found myself rooting for each of the characters in different ways and I loved each of their stories. Each character was able to grow and change in a different way based on everything that happened in one summer. There are plenty of happy and sad things in this book, but you know I'm a sucker for a good ending. I was a little blown away by one of the final pieces of the puzzle! I felt so many different emotions. This is really a perfect summer read.

Friday Favorites #31

Hi friends! I hope all of you have had a great week. I'm so excited for this long weekend. I definitely need some rest and relaxation in my life! Here are my faves for this week:
This Video
My mom came in my room laughing so hard and told me that I needed to watch this video. I hate when people tell me to watch something because I feel like I have to think it is funny like they do. Anyway, we started watching it and I didn't think it was that funny...but then after a minute or so I could not stop laughing. My cheeks hurt from watching this. So, enjoy!

Smoothies

I'm obsessed. We finally broke down and got a Ninja (which I totally said was unnecessary, but trust me it is wayyy better than the $20 one at Target). Anyway, we have been having smoothies all the time and I love it. I found a recipe for my favorite Jamba Juice smoothie on pinterest :) and I have been adding spinach. How healthy?
Image Search App
I discovered this app called Image Search this week. I found these chairs and a table that I loved and couldn't find them anywhere on the internet. I had pictures of both of them. Anyway, I uploaded the pics into this app and it found them for me! How insane is that? I think you can do this on google somehow too, but I always forget how.

My CHAIRS! Eeeek!

Okay, so I found these chairs that I loved on Zulily and I waited a whole day to make up my mind on whether or not we should get them. Then bam they were gone. I showed them to Justin and we really wanted them for our living room. I have been checking Zulily every day to see if they came back in stock and it has been like a month. I have been trying to find them everywhere. I FINALLY found them at Target of all places.
Bachelorette is Back!

Woohoo!! It is starting to feel like summer time with this coming back on. I'm so excited to see what happens this season.

We Bought a House {part 2}

After the initial decision of the layout and location, we actually got to pick out EVERYTHING that goes inside the house. This experience was sooo crazy and we feel so lucky to be able to do it!

Here is the carpet that we picked for the entire upstairs. It is brown but has grayish tints to it. That is a theme of our house!!

This picture covers so much!! Eeek! So at the very top left we have the tile for the master bathroom. This goes around the shower and bath tub in there. Next is the marble counter tops for the bathrooms which is pretty plain white :) just how I like it. The third one on the top right is the laminate for the bathrooms upstairs. It was really expensive to do tile floors for all of the bathrooms so we thought that was something we could add down the road if we want to. The little mosaic is also going to be around the vanity and bath tub in the bathrooms. Again, gray gray gray. In this pic the cabinets look black, but really they are espresso just like in the pic below. The white subway tiles are for the backsplash in the kitchen, which is also in the pic below. The gray piece next to the subway tiles is the wall color for the whole house. We had to choose one color, we can do our own painting later on if we want.

This island shows the counter tops that we chose for our island. Actually Justin picked this out. I was not about it. I wanted all white everything for the counters, but we decided to go with his idea on this one and really now I think it will look awesome. The rest of the counters will be white with little gray speckles in it...shown below.

These are the colors for the exterior of the house. Basically light brownish grays. The little maroon color at the bottom is the color we chose for our front door :)

This is the design we chose for our mantel. Instead of having a mirror there we will have a TV there for downstairs. I love how it is popped out from the regular wall though!
Finally, one of my favorite parts is our floors downstairs. I just love the color of them so much! I can't wait to see them installed!

We had a blast picking all of this out, now we just can't wait to see it all in person! The countdown is on.

New Glasses from GlassesShop

Hi blog friends! Today I'm going to be telling you about this awesome glasses website.

I seriously hate how expensive glasses are. I get so frustrated every time I need a new pair because they just cost so much. I always feel tricked by the price of the frames and the lenses are so expensive. I did get lasik a few years ago, but I still like to wear glasses at night when I drive. I don't have to, I just like to. I love that I can get cheap glasses from GlassesShop!
I got these awesome new glasses from glassesshop.com. GlassesShop has so many glasses frames to choose from and plenty of tools to help you figure out which glasses will look best on you. I heard about GlassesShop right around the time that my mom needed some new glasses as well. She was able to get a pair from here too for way less than we would have paid elsewhere.
Aren't they so cute? They even offer prescription sunglasses on their website for the same affordable prices. I wanted to get some larger glasses that would be better for night time driving. These are so perfect and totally remind me of Portland :)

Guess what? They were able to give me a 50% code to share with all of you.
Just use: GSHOT50
This is such a steal. I thought there must be some weird reason why the glasses were so inexpensive, but really they are exactly like any other pair I have even purchased. I really like them!

I received a free pair of glasses from GlassesShop in exchange for writing a review on my blog. All opinions in this review are my own.

Book Worm Wednesday - April 2016 Reads

Happy Wednesday! Look I made it to the blogging world today! I'm slowly but surely trying to get back on track. Things are just so crazy around here. Between the new house and work and commuting and having all of our stuff in storage, life is just in the way.

April was another slow book month for me. Unfortunately, I only got through one book. I'm definitely not on track to meet my reading goal this year. But, I did start a new book on Sunday. So hopefully I will have more for ya next month :)

#7 Who Do You Love by Jennifer Weiner
(here)
I didn't realize that this was a brand new book until I went to get the photo of it for this post. I guess it just came out last month. As you noticed in my last Bookworm Wednesday Post, I just got the memo about Jennifer Weiner books being awesome. I really liked the book I read last month (All Fall Down) and decided to pick up another one of her books.

Well surprise surprise, I really liked this one too. It took me a while to actually dive into it, but that was mostly because I have been so tired when I hit my pillow lately. Once I started reading more of it I couldn't put it down. The two main characters were so interesting and they had such a sweet history. I really loved how the book described their relationship even though their lives kept changing and involving other people. I felt like certain parts were very relatable while others really made you think about life from another perspective. I also loved that the book started out with something that happened towards the very end so you kind of had to guess along the way what was going to happen. I loved the ending and I loved the book! It was light and held my attention. Perfect chick lit type book :)

Happy Birthday Julie!

I need to give a birthday shout out to Julie today! She is proof that blog friends can become real life friends :) We both moved to the Seattle area last fall and quickly became friends. We have worked together and adventured together ever since. I'm so lucky to have found such a great friend through such an unconventional way. Can't wait to celebrate tonight and for our many more adventures to come!!

Summer Bucket List 2016

Hi friends! I had a great idea a few weeks ago to do a "Summer Bucket List," I feel like the summer always gets away from me before I even have time to get everything planned. Well, that is not going to happen this year. I'm a planning machine. I want to do all sorts of things this summer. If only we had longer weekends...fingers crossed that we can check most of these off our list!

1. Camping with the Mackey's - Lake Wenatchee State
This one is already booked :) we had so much fun last year that we decided to make it an annual thing!

2. Mariners Games
I hope we can go to a bunch this year! Even if we are horrible.

3. Crater Lake
Okay, so I lived in Oregon for 10 years and I never went. That is so bad! I have heard how beautiful it is so we are hoping to make it there sometime this summer. This one will probably be the furthest we would have to drive, so we will see if it actually ends up happening.

4. Vancouver BC or Victoria BC
Justin hasn't ever been to Canada and since we are so close now, I figure, why not?

5. Lake Chelan with the Family
I'm not 100% sure that we will be able to find a weekend for this one. But I really really want to do it! I haven't been there since I was a kid and everyone always talks about it. I would love to spend a weekend there this summer!

6. Lost Lake - Hike in Mount Hood
Justin's favorite place is Lost Lake. If we were to stay in Portland for a weekend we could do both of these things in a day trip, which would be ideal. There is also this hike near Multnomah Falls where you have to swim across the stream. We really wanted to do it last year, but we never got around to it. Hoping we can make it this year.

7. Lavender Fields in Sequim with Dave and Julie
Last year we were going to go to the Lavender farm at Mt Hood, but the weather was over 100 degrees on that day so we opted for AC instead. I would love to see the pretty lavender farms in Sequim this year.

8. Suncadia
My friend's mom has a place here ;) and I'm really hoping that we can go there for a weekend too!

9. Snoqualmie Falls
I was just talking to my mom about how I have never seen this. I don't know how that is possible.

10. Rattlesnake Hike
Last time I tried to do this it was very icy and kind of scary. Also, Justin's back was out so he couldn't go. I have heard that it is so beautiful so I'm hoping we can make it up there. It is pretty close do I think we will.

Phew, we will have no problem coming up with things to do this summer. I have ideas galore. I wonder how many we will actually end up checking off the list. I have to post this so I stop adding to it every day ;) Stay tuned!
