Bookworm Wednesday #5 - January 2016 Reads

Alright guys, it is time for Bookworm Wednesday again...my favorite posts of the month. I have been a little bit of a slacker on my reading lately. I'm reading a really really long book right now and I'm not totally into it yet. It is taking me foreverrrr to get through. These two books, on the other hand, were a breeze.

#1 Wedding Night By Sophie Kinsella
Well if you are new around here, let me tell you, Sophie Kinsella is my favorite author. I really like her style and love (almost) every book she has written. I also love her characters. Anyway, I have read this book before and remembered that I loved it. I wanted to read something light and relaxing at the start of the new year. I pulled this book up on my Kindle and dove right in. This story has some funny twists and turns along the way. The main character things her boyfriend is going to propose, and when he doesn’t she lets her life spin a little bit out of control. If you like books with love stories and happily ever after endings you would definitely enjoy this one!

#2 I Didn't Come Here to Make Friends By Courtney Robertson
Okay Bachelor fans, this is a must read. I don’t know why I never picked it up before. Maybe because I couldn’t get it at the library when it first came out? Not sure. Anyway, it is totally worth reading if you like the show. It is really interesting to see how the editing of the show changes things. The person who is portrayed as the villain isn’t always so horrible. Actually, after reading her book I have much more respect for Courtney. It was interesting to learn about what happened in their relationship after the show and ultimately why it didn’t work out for them. There is a ton of behind the scenes info and she is really open about her whole experience. Also, there are funny little “Keeping It Real” snippets from plenty of Bachelor alums.

I'm excited to see what everyone else is reading :)

Tell Us About It...Girls Nights, Chick Flicks, and Cocktail Recipes

Hi bloggy world. I’m back today cohosting our 2016 link up called “Tell Us About It.” Today we are talking girly Valentines day type things…girls nights, chick flicks, and cocktail recipes.

My favorite girls night out activities include mani/pedis, a great happy hour, and trip to Sephora or the Mac counter.

My ladies in Portland and I have this girls night down pat. We usually go to Cheesecake Factory for margaritas and appetizers. After that we walk over to Sephora and Nordstrom and spend way too much money on make up and stuff :) they are some of the best nights though!

My favorite girls night in activities include nail painting, watching Friends or How I Met Your Mother, lots of laughs, good cocktails, and yummy treats.

Some of my faves are:
My Best Friend’s Wedding
How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days
Mean Girls
Bridesmaids

I mean how could you not love watching these with your girl friends?? I love watching movies that make me laugh. All of these fall into that category. They are movies that I can watch time and time again and always crack up laughing.

The other night I went out to Cactus with my friend Lyss and we had the best skinny margaritas there. They were so good, but we forgot to ask how they made them. I have been scouring Pinterest for a similar recipe that I want to try. I think these ones had club soda in them because they were just a little bit carbonated and made them oh so refreshing.

Here is my best guess on how it was made:

1 shot of tequila
1/2 cup of fresh lime juice (2 limes worth)
1 tsp+ of agave
1/4 cup club soda
I'm going to try it out next week. I will let you all know if it is perfect or not!!

Also, in winter time I'm all about the hard ciders. I just love them so much.
